Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool HP1 Review: One Appliance for Every Season

Sealed HEPA H13 purification with a bladeless fan in summer and whole-room heating in winter.

The verdict

The HP1 is the three-in-one member of the range: purifier, cooling fan and heater in one sealed H13 tower. It reads particles and gases, reports them on the LCD and in the MyDyson app, and oscillates up to 350 degrees. It is the non De-NOx model, so it has no formaldehyde destruction and no Matter support.

Best for
  • Year-round use
  • Small to mid-sized rooms
  • Allergy households
  • Homes short on floor space

Pros

  • H13 filtration rated to capture fine particles
  • Activated carbon layer for odors and gases
  • Reports PM2.5, TVOC, Temperature
  • Auto mode drives the fan from the sensor readings
  • Sleep mode for overnight use
  • Physical remote included
  • Oscillates to spread air across the room
  • Doubles as a cooling fan

Cons

  • No Matter support
  • No published CADR figure to compare against rated models
  • Not AHAM Verifide, so the room-size claim is the maker's own
  • Pre-filter is not washable, it is replaced with the cartridge
  • Filter replacement interval is not published

Who is the Purifier Hot+Cool HP1 for?

It targets rooms that need heating in winter and cooling in summer alongside constant filtration, typically bedrooms and home offices. The heating element makes it the most seasonal machine in the range.

What the Purifier Hot+Cool HP1 offers

This model combines h13 filtration rated to capture fine particles, activated carbon layer for odors and gases, reports PM2.5, TVOC, Temperature, auto mode drives the fan from the sensor readings.

What to know before you buy

The trade-offs on paper: no Matter support; no published CADR figure to compare against rated models; not AHAM Verifide, so the room-size claim is the maker's own; pre-filter is not washable, it is replaced with the cartridge; filter replacement interval is not published.

Is the Purifier Hot+Cool HP1 worth it?

The case for it is floor space and plugs: one appliance replacing three. Against that, heating draws well over a kilowatt, so it should be compared with a space heater on running cost, not with a purifier.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with Apple HomeKit or Matter?

No. It is not listed in the Matter certified product database and carries no Apple Home certification. Control runs through the manufacturer app, with Alexa and Google Home for voice.

How much does the heating cost to run?

Heating on any fan heater draws well over a kilowatt, far more than the purification fan alone. Treat the heating mode as you would a space heater rather than as a free extra.

Can it be used purely as a purifier?

Yes. Heating and the fan are separate modes, so it can run as a sealed H13 purifier alone, including overnight in night mode.

Dyson is a technology company founded in the United Kingdom in 1991 and headquartered in Singapore since 2019, known for bagless vacuum cleaners, bladeless fans, hair care and air treatment products.
