Need a thermostat, or just air data? The SONOFF SAWF-08P Air Quality Monitor is the better buy for air quality alone.
It costs far less than a smart thermostat, connects natively over Matter into Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings and Home Assistant, and shows CO2, temperature and humidity on its own display. The Ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium answers with more sensors, it adds TVOC and occupancy to CO2, temperature and humidity, dual-band Wi-Fi plus Bluetooth, and a higher owner rating, but it is a hardwired thermostat first, with air sensing bundled in as a feature rather than the whole point. Both track CO2, temperature and humidity. Buy the SONOFF if a standalone CO2 reading with broad platform reach is all you want; buy the Ecobee only if you also need a new thermostat and value the extra TVOC and occupancy sensing.

Sensor breadth
