APC, founded in 1981 as American Power Conversion and part of Schneider Electric since 2007, is one of the best known makers of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and surge protectors. Its Back-UPS line keeps home routers, computers and network gear running through outages, while Smart-UPS covers small business and server racks. Many models connect over USB to the PowerChute software for automatic shutdown, and Smart-UPS units add SmartConnect cloud monitoring and network management cards.

CyberPower (Cyber Power Systems) is a Taiwanese maker of power protection equipment, best known for its uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) for homes, offices and data centers, alongside surge protectors, power distribution units, automatic transfer switches, battery modules and solar inverters. Its PowerPanel software and network cards let users monitor a UPS and shut connected computers down safely during an outage.
