Kidde is an American fire safety manufacturer founded in 1917 and one of the largest makers of residential smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. Alongside its traditional hardwired and battery alarms it sells a connected range that adds Wi-Fi, app notifications and voice alerts, including combination units that also monitor indoor air quality and models that report into the Ring app. It also makes fire extinguishers, escape ladders and water leak and freeze detectors.
View KiddeRefoss is a smart home brand active since 2016, best known for its multi-channel energy monitors and for smart plugs, switches and garage door openers. Its energy monitors clamp onto the mains and branch circuits and expose the readings through a local web UI, an open JSON-RPC API and MQTT, so they run without any cloud account. Refoss devices integrate natively with Home Assistant, Alexa, Google Home and Apple HomeKit.
