Its DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system is the most established in the category, covering Btrfs snapshots, cloud sync, and a Surveillance Station package that turns a NAS into a local network video recorder for IP cameras. Models with Intel or AMD processors run Container Manager, which is the usual way people self-host Home Assistant and similar services at home.
