Models with Intel or AMD processors run Container Manager, which is the usual way people self-host Home Assistant and similar services at home.

It entered network attached storage in 2024 with the NASync series, which became the highest-funded NAS campaign on Kickstarter. Its UGOS Pro operating system uses Btrfs by default and offers Docker containers, virtual machines and local AI photo recognition on the Intel-based models, alongside HDMI output and SD card slots that most rival NAS omit.
