Reolink Altas PT Ultra vs Ring Spotlight Cam Pro

Full Smart Cameras comparison in 2026

Updated October 2026
Data from the official Reolink and Ring sites.
2026 verdict
Already past a Ring subscription, the Reolink Altas PT Ultra is the 4K battery camera to mount.
Solar charging, a battery listed at 16 months, pan and tilt, color night vision, dual-band Wi-Fi, microSD and a 2 year warranty are on the camera, with Google Home built in and Alexa through a Reolink Home Hub. The Ring Spotlight Cam Pro adds 2K HDR, a spotlight, dual-band Wi-Fi and a battery you can also wire, and owners rate it more warmly, but clips and person detection wait on a plan and there is no 4K or microSD. Apple Home is on neither. Choose the Reolink Altas PT Ultra to skip the plan, and the Ring Spotlight Cam Pro to stay inside Ring with HDR.

What the differences mean

4K card or 2K cloud

The Reolink Altas PT Ultra lists 4K and records to microSD, with cloud only as a subscription. The Ring Spotlight Cam Pro lists 2K and HDR, not 4K, and it has no microSD and no RTSP. History and person detection on the Ring are subscription required. If the point of leaving Ring was to stop paying for clips, the Reolink is the camera that allows it.

Pan and solar

The Reolink Altas PT Ultra pans 355 degrees, tilts 90, and lists solar charging plus a 16 month battery. The Ring Spotlight Cam Pro does not pan, does not list solar charging, and its battery life is not published. It does list a rechargeable battery and optional wired power, so you can stop taking it down if a cable appears later.

Spotlight and HDR

The Ring Spotlight Cam Pro lists a spotlight and HDR. The Reolink Altas PT Ultra lists a light, not described as a spotlight on the sheet, and it does not list HDR. Its night vision is color only, with black and white night vision marked no. The Ring has both. Buy the Ring if the light and HDR are the features you came for.

Google Home and the hub

Google Home is listed on the Reolink Altas PT Ultra without a hub. Alexa, Home Assistant and RTSP need a Reolink Home Hub. The Ring Spotlight Cam Pro lists Alexa and Home Assistant, not Google Home. A Nest or a Google speaker in the kitchen points back to the Reolink. An Echo points to either, with a hub only on the Reolink side.

Which one to buy if

What owners say

Both groups bought a battery camera so they would not pull a cable, and then they noticed different limits. Reolink Altas PT Ultra owners single out 4K, color night vision, a few seconds of video from before the trigger, and metal mounts, and they warn the included solar panel cannot hold a true 24/7 schedule and that a long freeze can stop the pack. Ring Spotlight Cam Pro owners single out the light and a wide 2K picture, and they treat Ring Protect as part of the purchase, because without it the camera does not keep a library.
