Nuki Smart Lock Ultra vs Philips Wi-Fi Smart Deadbolt DDL242X

The Philips Wi-Fi Smart Deadbolt DDL242X wins the overall comparison on price, weather resistance and its built-in one-time, periodic and anti-peep guest codes. The Nuki Smart Lock Ultra answers with deeper connectivity and the longest list of native platform integrations of any Nuki lock, while owner ratings between the two are essentially even.

Smart-home reach versus built-in entry hardware. The Nuki Smart Lock Ultra connects to Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings, Home Assistant and Matter over its own Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Thread. The Philips Wi-Fi Smart Deadbolt DDL242X only reaches Google Home and Alexa, but includes a fingerprint reader and keypad directly in the lock rather than as accessories.

Not built in. Passcode entry needs Nuki's separate Keypad accessory and fingerprint needs the Keypad 2, both bought on top of the lock. The Philips Wi-Fi Smart Deadbolt DDL242X includes both a fingerprint reader and a touchscreen keypad out of the box.

They are effectively tied. The Nuki Smart Lock Ultra, Nuki's flagship model, earns ratings on par with the Philips Wi-Fi Smart Deadbolt DDL242X, so neither has a clear ratings edge.

Buyers on European doors who want Nuki's fastest, most refined retrofit lock with the widest native smart-home integration, and who are willing to add the Keypad accessory and pay a premium price for it.

Buyers who want fingerprint and keypad entry built in from the start, better weather resistance and a lower price, and who only need Google Home or Alexa voice control rather than the widest platform list.
