For video quality and features, the Ring Wired Doorbell Pro, with 1536p video, colour night vision, dual-band Wi-Fi and Quick Replies. The Blink Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) is the better value if you want a cheap doorbell that runs on batteries and can be mounted without wiring.

Power and picture. The Ring Wired Doorbell Pro is hardwired and records 1536p with colour night vision, while the Blink Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) runs on batteries or a chime wire and records 1080p. The Ring also rings a mechanical chime and adds Quick Replies; the Blink does not.

For saved video and smart alerts, yes on both. Live view and basic alerts work without a plan, but person and package detection and video history need a Ring or Blink plan, and the Blink Sync Module no longer offers local storage.

Only the Blink Video Doorbell (2nd Gen). It runs on three AA batteries rated for around two years, with wiring optional, while the Ring Wired Doorbell Pro must be hardwired and often needs a 16 to 24V transformer upgrade.

A budget buyer in a Blink or Alexa home who wants a battery-powered doorbell with a head-to-toe view and does not need 5 GHz Wi-Fi, a mechanical chime or adjustable motion sensitivity.
