The Ring Battery Doorbell Pro gets our recommendation over the Ecobee Smart Doorbell Camera, on the strength of its connectivity (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi plus Ethernet) and a higher owner rating.
It also runs on a rechargeable battery or on doorbell wiring, records at 1536p with color night vision, offers privacy zones and works with Home Assistant as well as Alexa. Person and package alerts and saved video on the Ring, however, depend on a Ring Protect subscription. The Ecobee Smart Doorbell Camera is the lower-priced pick with a three-year warranty (Ring gives one), HDR video, native Apple HomeKit support and person alerts that work without a plan, but it must be hardwired. Take the Ring for install flexibility and a sharper picture in an Alexa home, the Ecobee for HomeKit on a wired door.
