The verdict

The EM06P sits between a two-channel module and a whole-panel monitor: six independent channels rated up to 120 A each, which is enough current for a mains feed, an EV charger or a heat pump rather than just lighting circuits. It mounts on DIN rail, sends minute, hourly and daily data to a free cloud that keeps daily history for five years, and exports everything as CSV. The reason to pick it over the cheaper end is the native Home Assistant integration and the solar zero-export automations; the reason to look elsewhere is that it has no relay and no voice assistant support.

Who is the Meross EM06P for?

Households where a handful of loads account for most of the bill. Six channels at up to 120 A each cover the mains, an EV charger, a heat pump, an oven or a workshop feed, which is exactly where the 50 A and 60 A branch clamps on sixteen-channel monitors run out of range. Meross positions it for solar homes too, since it tracks generation as well as consumption. As a DIN module it belongs in a consumer unit, and it suits anyone who wants their data in Home Assistant rather than only in a phone app.

What the EM06P offers

Per-channel consumption is visible individually, with minute, hourly and daily views in the app and daily history kept for up to five years on a free cloud service with no subscription. Everything can be exported as CSV. The Home Assistant integration is native through Meross_RPC, needs no flashing and keeps the warranty, and it is what enables the zero-export behaviour: when solar generation is high, the meter's readings can start a heat pump or another appliance so surplus is self-consumed instead of exported. Inside the Meross ecosystem, power thresholds can also drive plugs and lights directly. Practical touches include a high-gain antenna for panel installs and a software CT flip, so a clamp installed the wrong way round is corrected with one tap instead of reopening the panel.

What to know before you buy

There is no relay, so the meter never switches anything itself; acting on a reading means using a Meross plug or an automation platform. Connectivity is Wi-Fi only, with no Ethernet, and there is no Alexa, Google Home, HomeKit or Matter support, which makes the app and Home Assistant the only two ways to see the data. Meross does not publish accuracy, dimensions or weight for this model, and unlike its sixteen-channel sibling it has no Amazon listing, so it is bought through the Meross store.

Is the Meross EM06P worth it?

It is the sensible middle of the range: cheaper than a full panel monitor, with far more current headroom per channel, and the same free five-year history. Choose the EM16P if you want to map an entire breaker panel, and choose this one if four to six big loads are what you actually care about. Note that Refoss, a Meross sub-brand, sells the same six-channel design with a published accuracy figure and MQTT, which is worth comparing if local integration matters more than the Meross app.
