There is no relay inside: Shelly states plainly that contactor control requires the separate 3EM Switch Add-on, so the meter alone only measures. The v2 also sits at roughly double the price of the v1, and the addition it brings is Matter, so one owner points out that older third-party integrations may not recognise it yet (a Hoymiles system that supported the v1 did not support the v2). A UK buyer found it unsuitable as a grid meter for a Victron system because of how frequently it pushes readings, which is worth checking if you need sub-second data for a battery inverter.
