2026 verdict
As an office desktop that needs real CPU headroom without paying flagship prices, the Geekom A8 (Ryzen 7 16GB + 1TB) edges out the Geekom A5 Pro 2026 Edition (16GB + 1TB) of this pair.
It brings an eight-core processor and DDR5 memory the A5 Pro 2026 Edition does not have. The A8's Ryzen 7 8745HS with Radeon 780M graphics and a USB4 Type-C port outrun the A5 Pro 2026 Edition's six-core Ryzen 5 7530U on DDR4, though the two share the same 16GB starting memory and a 1TB drive. The A5 Pro 2026 Edition answers with a second storage slot the A8 does not have and a genuinely lower price. Choose the Geekom A8 (Ryzen 7 16GB + 1TB) for extra CPU cores and USB4, and the Geekom A5 Pro 2026 Edition (16GB + 1TB) for a cheaper desktop with room for a second drive.

What the differences mean
CPU cores
The A8's eight-core Ryzen 7 8745HS pairs with Radeon 780M graphics, ahead of the A5 Pro 2026 Edition's six-core Ryzen 5 7530U with Radeon Vega 7, a real gap for multitasking and photo editing.
Memory type
The A8 runs DDR5, the newer memory standard, while the A5 Pro 2026 Edition runs DDR4. Both ship 16GB and both cap at 64GB, but DDR5 gives the A8 more bandwidth for the same capacity.
USB4
The A8 has a USB4 Type-C port at 40Gbps; the A5 Pro 2026 Edition has none, only USB 3.2 Type-C ports carrying DisplayPort video.
Storage slots
The A5 Pro 2026 Edition has a second M.2 2242 SATA slot alongside its main NVMe drive, room to add storage later. The A8 has a single M.2 slot, so growing past the installed drive means replacing it.
