2026 verdict
On paper the Geekom A7 Max (Ryzen 9) and the Geekom A8 (Ryzen 7 16GB + 1TB) are nearly identical machines: both ship with 16GB of DDR5 memory at the same speed, a 1TB PCIe 4.0 drive, Radeon 780M graphics, a 3 year warranty and the same dual USB4 and dual HDMI port layout. The deciding factors are price and owner satisfaction, and the Geekom A8 (Ryzen 7 16GB + 1TB) wins both, costing less while carrying a higher rating despite using a Ryzen 7 8745HS instead of the pricier Ryzen 9 7940HS. Since neither chip changes the practical experience for office work, browsing or light gaming, the Geekom A8 (Ryzen 7 16GB + 1TB) is the easier recommendation for most buyers; the Geekom A7 Max (Ryzen 9) only makes sense if you find it discounted below the A8.
