The GMKtec NucBox M7 Ultra (32GB + 512GB) is the stronger machine overall, rated higher by owners and ahead on memory type, memory speed, memory capacity and GPU. The GMKtec NucBox G3 Pro (16GB + 512GB) wins only on price.

Processor and platform generation. The G3 Pro runs a four-core Intel Core i3-10110U with basic HDMI 1.4 output and no advanced connectivity, while the M7 Ultra runs an eight-core AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 6850U with dual USB4 ports, a front OCuLink port for an external GPU and HDMI 2.1 with DisplayPort 2.0.

Both are upgradeable, but differently. The G3 Pro pairs two DDR4 SO-DIMM slots (64GB ceiling) with two M.2 bays, one PCIe 3.0 and one SATA. The M7 Ultra pairs two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots (also 64GB) with two full M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots, which is the faster storage path of the two.

Only the M7 Ultra. It has a front OCuLink port that gives an eGPU dock a full PCIe Gen4 x4 link, plus two USB4 ports as an alternative route. The G3 Pro has no OCuLink, USB4 or Thunderbolt, so it cannot drive an external GPU.

Buyers on a tight budget who mainly need a small Windows desktop for browsing, office work or a light home server, and who value the lower price over CPU headroom or fast external connectivity.

Buyers who want real desktop performance, quiet dual-fan cooling, dual 2.5G Ethernet for networking duty, and the option to add an external GPU later through OCuLink or USB4.
