UGREEN NASync DH4300 Plus Review: Four Bays for a Photo Library

An eight-core ARM with a 6 TOPS NPU, 8 GB of memory and 2.5 GbE, aimed at photos rather than self-hosting.

The verdict

The DH4300 Plus scales UGREEN's photo-first DH line to four bays and 128 TB, with 8 GB of LPDDR4X, a 6 TOPS NPU for local face and object recognition, 2.5 GbE and 4K HDMI. It supports RAID 5 and RAID 6, which the two-bay DH2300 cannot, but it keeps the ARM processor, so treat container support as unconfirmed.

Best for
  • Replacing a photo subscription
  • RAID 5 and RAID 6
  • Low power use
  • Plugging into a TV

Pros

  • 6 TOPS NPU for local AI photo recognition
  • RAID 5 and RAID 6 across four bays
  • 2.5 GbE networking
  • 4K HDMI output
  • Up to 128 TB raw
  • Btrfs with snapshots

Cons

  • Docker support unconfirmed on this ARM model
  • 8 GB of memory, soldered
  • No M.2 NVMe slots
  • Noise and dimensions not published

Who is the DH4300 Plus for?

Households with a large photo and video library who want it at home, searchable by face and place, with parity RAID protecting it rather than a simple mirror.

What the DH4300 Plus offers

Four bays up to 128 TB raw, an eight-core Rockchip at 2.4 GHz with a 6 TOPS NPU, 8 GB LPDDR4X, 2.5 GbE, USB-C, 4K HDMI, RAID 0/1/5/6/10 and JBOD, and UGOS Pro with Btrfs and snapshots.

What to know before you buy

The memory is soldered at 8 GB. UGREEN markets UGOS Pro's Docker and virtual machine features on this page, but the sibling DH2300 is documented as having no official Docker support, so we have left containers unconfirmed rather than assume the ARM chip carries them.

Is the DH4300 Plus worth it?

A strong private-cloud photo box with real redundancy and low running costs. If containers are a firm requirement, an Intel model such as the DXP2800 removes the doubt entirely.

Frequently asked questions

How is it different from the DH2300?

Four bays instead of two, so RAID 5 and RAID 6 become possible, plus double the memory, 2.5 GbE instead of Gigabit, and 128 TB of raw capacity against 64 TB.

Can it run Home Assistant?

We could not confirm it. The DH line is ARM-based and UGREEN explicitly states the DH2300 has no official Docker support, so assume no until UGREEN documents otherwise for this model.

UGREEN is a Chinese consumer technology company founded in Shenzhen in 2012, known for charging gear, cables and computer accessories. It entered network attached storage in 2024 with the NASync series, which became the highest-funded NAS campaign on Kickstarter. Its UGOS Pro operating system uses Btrfs by default and offers Docker containers, virtual machines and local AI photo recognition on the Intel-based models, alongside HDMI output and SD card slots that most rival NAS omit.
