The Sonoff SenseGuard Presence Core for most rooms, because it adds a built-in light sensor, costs less and carries a longer warranty. The Aqara Presence Sensor FP1E is the better pick when you need more range or already run Aqara hubs for HomeKit and Matter.

Neither the Aqara Presence Sensor FP1E nor the Sonoff SenseGuard Presence Core counts people or detects falls. Both report whether the space is occupied, and both lack sleep monitoring, so a room with two occupants is simply occupied to either sensor.

Someone with a small room, a desk or a bathroom on a standard Zigbee network who wants a cheap presence sensor with a lux reading, seven maskable zones and a two-year warranty, and who will spend a few minutes on placement.

A household already invested in Aqara hubs, or anyone covering a larger single-occupant room who needs the longer about 6 meter reach and wants HomeKit, Matter and SmartThings support through the Aqara hub.
