Sonoff's second attempt is the better one: the Sonoff ZBMINIR2 Extreme Zigbee Smart Switch improves on the Sonoff ZBMINI ZigBee Smart Switch with a higher 2400W resistive rating (against 2200W), power-off memory, OTA firmware updates and a physical on/off button, all in a smaller 39.5 x 33 x 16.8 mm body. The original Sonoff ZBMINI ZigBee Smart Switch wins no row outright, but it is a proven module with a long track record in Zigbee homes and does the same basic job. Everything else is shared: a single channel for resistive loads up to 10A, a neutral wire requirement, a Zigbee hub to run it, a Zigbee router role that extends the mesh, a 1-year warranty, and support for Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings and Home Assistant, with Apple Home and Matter available only through a SONOFF hub. Neither handles inductive, capacitive or DC loads. For a new install buy the Sonoff ZBMINIR2 Extreme Zigbee Smart Switch; keep the older ZBMINI in mind only to match existing units.
