Beatbot Sora 10 Review: Full Pool Coverage and a Five Litre Basket

The verdict

The Sora 10 is the entry point of Beatbot's cordless range and it gives up very little to do that job. It covers floor, walls, waterline and shallow platforms in one cycle, moves 6,800 gallons per hour, and carries a five litre basket that Beatbot rates at roughly 650 leaves, which is the difference between a machine that finishes a heavy debris day and one that fills up halfway. Sensor based navigation keeps it off ladders and drains, and it parks at the waterline when the cycle ends so retrieval is a reach rather than a fishing expedition.

Best for
  • Large pools up to 3,299 square feet
  • Heavy leaf fall
  • Pools with steps and ledges
  • Owners who hate retrieving the robot

Pros

  • Cleans floor, walls, waterline and shallow platforms in one cycle
  • Large five litre basket, rated at roughly 650 leaves
  • Strong 6,800 GPH suction with dual front roller brushes
  • Parks at the waterline when the cycle ends
  • Fast recharge at about three and a half hours

Cons

  • Single 150 micron filter layer, no fine insert
  • Sensor based navigation without a camera
  • No water surface skimming
  • No smart home platform integrations

Who is the Beatbot Sora 10 for?

It is rated for in-ground and above-ground pools up to 3,299 square feet, which is more pool than most homes have, and for saltwater up to 5,000 PPM. That makes it a fit for a large residential pool where a smaller machine would need two runs.

The four zone coverage is the other reason to look at it: floor, walls, waterline and shallow areas as low as 12 inches, so the ledge and the tide line are part of the cycle rather than a separate chore.

What stands out on paper

Capacity and coverage are the two headline numbers. The 5 litre basket is at the top of the class, and 6,800 gallons per hour is enough suction both to lift wet leaves and to hold the machine against a wall. Dual front roller brushes turning at different speeds are what let it climb and scrub the waterline horizontally.

The battery is a 7,800 mAh pack rated at five hours on the floor and four for a complete pass, recharging in about three and a half hours over a 65 watt charger, which is faster than most of the category. SonicSense navigation uses eleven sensors including an ultrasonic one for obstacle avoidance, and the waterproof rating is IPX68.

What to know before you buy

The filter is a single 150 micron layer. That is right for leaves, insects and everyday debris, and it is not fine enough for pollen, algae or the silt that makes water look dull, where machines with a 3 micron insert pull ahead.

There is no camera, so navigation is sensor based: predictable and unaffected by cloudy water, but it does not seek out dirt the way vision-based flagships do. It does not skim the water surface either, so floating debris sinks before it is collected. And as with the rest of the category, there are no smart home platform integrations, so the Beatbot app over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth is the only control surface.

Is the Beatbot Sora 10 worth it?

It is the cheapest way into full four zone coverage with a basket this size, and for a pool that generates real debris that combination matters more than a finer filter would. Waterline and platform cleaning are what separate a robot you still finish by hand from one you do not.

If the water looks dull rather than dirty, a model with fine filtration answers that better. If the pool is simply big and leafy, this covers it in one run and comes back up to the edge on its own.

Frequently asked questions

What surfaces does the Beatbot Sora 10 clean?

The floor, the walls, the waterline and shallow areas as low as 12 inches, including steps and platforms. The one thing it does not do is skim floating debris off the water surface.

How long does it run on a charge?

Up to five hours cleaning the floor only, and about four hours for a complete pass over floor, walls and waterline. A full recharge takes roughly three and a half hours over a 65 watt charger.

How do I get it out of the pool?

It returns to the waterline and parks there when the cycle finishes, so you lift it out at the edge rather than retrieving it from the bottom with a pole.

Will it fit my pool?

It is rated for in-ground and above-ground pools of any shape up to 3,299 square feet, across concrete, vinyl, fiberglass and ceramic tile, and for saltwater up to 5,000 PPM.

Does it work with voice assistants or Home Assistant?

No. There are no smart home platform integrations. The Beatbot app connects over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth while the robot is at the surface, which is where modes and status live.

Beatbot is a Chinese robotics company founded in 2022 that builds robotic pool cleaners only, positioned at the premium end of the market. Its AquaSense series combines floor, wall, waterline and water surface cleaning in one machine using AI cameras and multi-sensor navigation, while the Sora and iSkim series cover mid-range cleaners and solar surface skimmers. All of its robots are configured from the Beatbot app over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, and the company backs them with a replacement rather than repair warranty.
