Roborock Qrevo Edge 2 Review: Slim Enough to Clean Where Others Cannot

A 3.14 in chassis with retractable LiDAR, 25,000 Pa suction and a dock that washes mops in hot water.

The verdict

The Qrevo Edge 2 is built around one idea: get under the furniture other flagships cannot reach. At 79 mm tall with a LiDAR turret that retracts when overhead clearance runs out, it slides beneath beds and sofas while keeping its bearings, and it brings 25,000 Pa of suction and a FlexiArm side brush that extends into corners. The dock is the other half of the pitch, washing the mops with hot water, drying them with warm air, refilling the tank and emptying the bin for up to 65 days. What you give up is transparency on the smaller numbers: tank and bin capacities are not published, and it stays on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi with no Apple Home support, though Matter is supported.

Who is the Qrevo Edge 2 for?

This model exists for homes where the dirt hides under things. Its 79 mm body is meaningfully shorter than a typical flagship, and the RetractSense system pairs an upward-facing range finder with a retractable laser turret so the robot can duck into low spaces without losing its position on the map. If your sofas, beds and cabinets sit low enough that your current robot bounces off them, that is the single feature worth paying for here. It also suits mixed-floor homes: the mops lift for carpet, and 25,000 Pa is enough suction to pull embedded debris out of low-pile rugs rather than skate over them.

What stands out on paper

The dock does almost everything. It washes the mops at 176F, dries them with warm air at 131F, refills the water tank on its own and empties the robot's bin into a bag rated for up to 65 days, so the routine collapses into changing a bag every couple of months. Cleaning itself is handled by a dual anti-tangle brush system aimed at pet hair, a FlexiArm arc side brush that extends past the chassis to reach walls and toe-kicks, and Reactive AI obstacle recognition that identifies more than 280 object types using structured light, an RGB camera and an LED for dark rooms. SmartPlan 3.0 layers automation on top, recognizing room types and adjusting suction and mop washing per area. Matter support is on board alongside Alexa and Google Home.

What to know before you buy

Several numbers a buyer would want are simply not published: the clean water tank capacity, the onboard bin capacity and the dock bin capacity are all absent from the official spec sheet, and so is the charging time. Runtime is quoted at 188 minutes, which is shorter than several rivals in this price bracket and a consequence of the slim body leaving less room for a battery. Connectivity is 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only, and there is no Apple Home support, only Siri Shortcuts. The dock is also large, at roughly 340 by 488 by 521 mm, so it needs a dedicated corner. Warranty is one year, which is shorter than some competitors offer at this tier.

Is the Qrevo Edge 2 worth it?

It is a premium-priced robot, and the premium buys height clearance and dock automation rather than headline suction. If low furniture is the reason your floors never look fully clean, nothing in the spec sheet of a cheaper model solves that, and this one does. If your furniture sits high and you mostly want strong vacuuming and self-emptying, a thicker model with a longer runtime and published capacities will stretch further. The hot-water mop washing and warm-air drying are genuine differentiators over docks that rinse with cold water.

Frequently asked questions

How thin is the Qrevo Edge 2 and why does it matter?

The robot is 79 mm tall, about 3.14 inches. Combined with a laser turret that retracts when an upward range finder detects low overhead clearance, that lets it clean under beds, sofas and cabinets where taller robots with a fixed turret cannot fit.

Does the dock wash the mops with hot water?

Yes. The dock washes the mops at 176F and includes a soaking mode for heavier soiling, then dries them with 131F warm air so they do not sit damp between runs.

How often do I need to empty it?

The dock empties the robot's bin into a dust bag rated for up to 65 days of use, and it also refills the robot's water tank automatically, so routine maintenance is mostly changing the bag.

Does it support Matter and voice assistants?

Yes. It supports Matter and works with Amazon Alexa and Google Home. Apple Home is not supported, though Siri Shortcuts can be used.

Does it connect to 5GHz Wi-Fi?

No. The Roborock app supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only, so a dual-band router needs its 2.4GHz band available during setup.

Will it mop my carpets by mistake?

No. It lifts the mopping module and raises suction when it detects carpet, and it adapts its path for high-pile carpets, so carpets are vacuumed rather than wetted.
