2026 verdict
Eight external antennas and dual 6 GHz radios sound like an easy win, but the overall verdict lands with the newer Asus RT-BE90U, which costs meaningfully less than the Asus ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro while both carry the same warranty length.
The ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro answers with the stronger owner rating and a genuinely higher tier of hardware: quad-band Wi-Fi 7 with two separate 6 GHz radios, dual 10 Gbps ports plus four 2.5 Gbps ports, and ROG's gaming and VPN toolkit, all built for enthusiasts who will actually use that headroom. The RT-BE90U covers just one 6 GHz band and sticks to basic 2.5 Gbps ports, a much smaller footprint that suits a typical home rather than a wired-heavy gaming setup. Casual buyers who want Wi-Fi 7 without the flagship price should pick the Asus RT-BE90U, while serious gamers and networking enthusiasts with multi-gig fiber should still spend up for the Asus ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro.
