2026 verdict
A quad-band gaming flagship against a compact UniFi gateway, and the Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Ultra still wins on price and owner rating.
It is the cheaper way into a UniFi network: 2.5 Gbps WAN, four Gigabit LAN ports, multi-WAN failover and a local controller, with no Wi-Fi radio. The Asus ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro is in another class of hardware, a quad-band Wi-Fi 7 router with two 6 GHz radios, up to 30 Gbps, dual 10G ports, four 2.5G jacks, Game Boost and a 3-year warranty. That is the box you buy for raw wireless speed, not for a UniFi stack. Choose the Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Ultra to route a UniFi home; choose the Asus ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro if you want maximum Wi-Fi 7 and gaming tools in one chassis.
