2026 verdict
In this 2026 Asus RT-BE96U vs Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Router 5G Max comparison, Asus RT-BE96U comes out ahead thanks to price, warranty, and LAN port count.
It builds its lead on price, warranty, and LAN port count, then backs it up with a stronger showing on USB storage and VPN. Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Router 5G Max can still be the right pick, but only if rating, LAN 2.5 gbps RJ45 ports, and WAN & failover outweigh the wider strengths of Asus RT-BE96U. That is enough to make Asus RT-BE96U the better pick for most buyers.
