2026 verdict
Owner approval and a longer warranty carry the
eero Pro 7 over the
TP-Link Archer BE400, 3 years against 2, even though the Archer is the cheaper dual-band Wi-Fi 7 box.
The
eero Pro 7 is a tri-band mesh node with a 6 GHz radio, Multi-Link Operation, a 10.8 Gbps rating, two auto-sensing 5 GbE ports, and it doubles as a Thread border router and Matter controller, with no web interface, USB port or VPN. The
TP-Link Archer BE400 answers as a standalone EasyMesh router: dual-band Wi-Fi 7 rated 6.5 Gbps, a 2.5 Gbps WAN and 2.5 Gbps LAN, six external antennas, USB storage and a WireGuard VPN suite, for up to 90 devices. Buy the
eero Pro 7 for plug-and-play Wi-Fi 7 mesh and Matter; buy the
TP-Link Archer BE400 if you want a cheaper, tunable Wi-Fi 7 router with USB and VPN.
