The TP-Link Archer BE400 is priced lower than the TP-Link Deco BE63, and the two are evenly matched on owner rating and warranty. For most homes that makes the Archer BE400 the easier recommendation, unless the extra mesh coverage of the Deco BE63 is specifically needed.

Wi-Fi bands and structure. The TP-Link Deco BE63 is a tri-band Wi-Fi 7 mesh system with a 6 GHz radio and Wi-Fi 6E support, while the TP-Link Archer BE400 is a single dual-band router with no 6 GHz band.

Only the TP-Link Deco BE63, which adds a 6 GHz radio and Wi-Fi 6E support on top of 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The TP-Link Archer BE400 is dual-band only.

Only the TP-Link Archer BE400 supports WireGuard, alongside OpenVPN, PPTP and L2TP/IPSec. The TP-Link Deco BE63 covers OpenVPN, PPTP and L2TP/IPSec but not WireGuard.

Buyers on a normal internet plan who want a single-box Wi-Fi 7 router with WireGuard support at a lower price should buy the TP-Link Archer BE400.

Buyers with a large home who want tri-band Wi-Fi 7 mesh coverage, a 6 GHz radio and support for up to 200 connected devices should buy the TP-Link Deco BE63.
