The Beam remains the better pick purely for TV and music sound quality.

The hub. The Amazon Echo Dot Max can adopt Zigbee devices directly, route Thread accessories and bridge them into Matter, replacing a separate hub. The Sonos Beam (Gen 2) has none of that, and instead spends its size and cost on soundbar hardware for a television, including wall mounting and an Ethernet port.
