2026 verdict
Ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium beats Honeywell Home X8S Smart Thermostat in 2026, with its clearest edge on rating, warranty, and included accessories.
It builds its lead on rating, warranty, and included accessories, then backs it up with a stronger showing on connectivity and sensors. Honeywell Home X8S Smart Thermostat can still be the right pick, but only if price, integrations, and system health monitor outweigh the wider strengths of Ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium. For the average buyer, Ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium is the safer choice.
