Two rockers in one EU plate, 5 A and 1100 W each, joining any Matter platform without a hub.
The double version of Sonoff's M5 puts two independently controlled rockers behind one faceplate, each rated 5 A and 1100 W on 100-240 V AC. Like the rest of the range it supports Matter natively over Wi-Fi, so it can be commissioned straight into Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa or SmartThings with no hub, and it also works with Home Assistant and IFTTT. Power-off memory and an adjustable status LED are included. It requires a neutral wire, offers no energy monitoring, and lists none of the four safety protections.

Who is the M5 double for?
It replaces the common two-gang plate, where one box switches two circuits such as a ceiling light and a set of wall lights. Doing both with one device costs less and takes up one network slot instead of two. The appeal over cheaper switches is platform freedom: native Matter means it works with Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa and SmartThings today, and does not tie the installation to a single vendor's app. Manual operation continues to work exactly as before for anyone in the house.
What it handles
Two rockers, each switching up to 1100 W at 5 A on 100-240 V AC. That is half the single-rocker model's rating per circuit, which is normal for multi-gang switches and still comfortable for lighting. Power-off memory sets behaviour when mains power comes back, the status LED can be dimmed or turned off for a bedroom, and automations run through any connected platform. The EU faceplate is 86 x 86 mm with a 41.5 mm depth.
What to know before you buy
A neutral wire is required. None of the four safety protections (overheating, overvoltage, overcurrent, overpower) are listed for this model. There is no energy monitoring. Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz only, so each switch occupies a slot on the router, which is a consideration for a whole-house rollout where Zigbee scales better. Wireless switch mode, which decouples a rocker so it can act as a scene button while the circuit stays powered, is not documented here, so do not count on it if you plan to pair the switch with smart bulbs. The 41.5 mm depth needs a reasonably deep back box. Warranty is one year.
Is the M5 double worth it?
Two smart circuits for barely more than one, with native Matter and no hub requirement, is good value at this price.
